Ciabatta turkey burger with tomato & avocado salsa

Ingredients

  • 1 ciabatta
  • ½ red onion
  • 3 ounces 99% lean ground turkey breast (84 g)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (15 ml)
  • 3 tomatoes
  • ½ avocado

Preparing this recipe

  1. Preheat the oven at 356°F (180 °C).
  2. Bake the ciabatta bun for 6-8 minutes.
  3. Finely chop half of the onion.
  4. Mix the onion through the minced meat. Season with pepper and salt. With damp hands, form a burger from the meat.
  5. Heat half of the oil in a frying pan and fry the burger for 10 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Meanwhile, make the salsa. Cut the tomatoes into cubes and the rest of the onion into rings. Peel the avocado and cut the flesh into cubes. Toss the tomatoes, onion and avocado with the rest of the oil. Season with pepper and salt.
  7. Halve the bun and place the turkey burger on the bottom half of the bun. Put some of the salsa on the burger. Serve with the other half of the bun and the remaining salsa on the side.
