Niçoise salad with tuna steak

Ingredients

  • 1 tuna steak
  • 1 ¾ cup green beans (frozen) (220 g)
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (30 ml)
  • 1 tomato
  • ¼ red onion
  • ½ teaspoon yellow mustard (3 g)
  • ½ tablespoon vinegar (8 ml)
  • 1 handful mixed salad (30 g)
  • 2 slices bread, whole wheat

Preparing this recipe

  1. Allow the tuna steak to thaw.
  2. Boil the green beans and the egg together in a saucepan with water for about 7 minutes. Then rinse both with cold water.
  3. Heat half of the oil in a pan and sear the tuna steak on high heat for approximately 1 1/2 minutes on each side.
  4. Meanwhile, cut the tomato into wedges and the onion into thin rings.
  5. In a small bowl, make a dressing using the other half of the oil, mustard and vinegar.
  6. Cut the egg into quarters and the tuna into slices.
  7. Place the lettuce on a plate and top it with the green beans, tuna, egg, tomato and red onion.
  8. Serve the salad with the dressing. Season with pepper and salt to taste as desired.
  9. Serve with the (toasted) bread.
