Ingredients

  • 3 ounces penne, whole wheat (84 g)
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 1 carrot
  • 3 ounces 96% lean ground beef (84 g)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (15 ml)
  • ½ teaspoon paprika (ground spice) (1 g)
  • 1 ½ tablespoon cream cheese, reduced fat (23 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon chili sauce (15 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons water (30 ml)

Preparing this recipe

  1. Cook the penne according to the instructions on the packaging.
  2. Dice the bell pepper and carrot.
  3. Heat the oil in a pan and stir-fry the bell pepper and carrot cubes for 4 minutes. Then, add the ground beef and paprika powder and cook until browned, about 4 minutes. Next, add the cream cheese, chili sauce and water. Stir well and heat until a creamy sauce forms.
  4. Drain the penne and mix it into the creamy chili sauce.
  5. Serve the pasta with ground beef and chili sauce on a plate. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
