Ingredients

  • 1 pita, whole wheat
  • 1 ½ tablespoon olive oil (23 ml)
  • ½ avocado
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt, nonfat (30 ml)
  • 1 clove garlic (5 g)
  • 1 squeeze lemon juice (5 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard (7 g)
  • 1 tablespoon water (15 ml)
  • 5 cherry tomatoes
  • 5 ounces mixed salad (140 g)

Preparing this recipe

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Cut the pita into triangles or strips. Place them on a baking sheet, drizzle with half the oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake for 8–10 minutes until crispy, then let cool.
  3. In a blender, combine the avocado, yogurt, garlic, lemon juice, mustard and the remaining oil. Blend until smooth. Add a little water to thin and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Halve the cherry tomatoes. In a bowl, mix them with the lettuce. Add the dressing and toss well.
  5. Top with cheese and pita chips. Serve immediately.

  • Baking sheet lined with parchment paper
  • Blender

1. Even tastier with fresh herbs like cilantro or parsley.
2. No blender? Mash the avocado with a fork and stir in the other ingredients using a spoon or spatula.
