Preparing this recipe

  1. Press the garlic, grate the ginger and slice the chicken into strips. Peel the apple and cut it into thin slices.
  2. In a bowl, mix the garlic, ginger, soy sauce, half of the honey, vinegar, half of the oil, paprika, chili powder and a pinch of pepper. Add the chicken and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Heat the remaining oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the chicken for 5–7 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through. Set aside.
  4. In the meantime, toss the apple slices with lemon juice, cinnamon and the remaining honey. Cook in a skillet over medium heat for 3–4 minutes, until soft and lightly caramelized.
  5. Steam or briefly boil the broccoli for 4–5 minutes, until tender-crisp.
  6. Serve the chicken with the warm, sweet apple slices and broccoli.

Tip van FitChef

1. Swap the oil in the marinade for sesame oil to boost that nutty, toasty flavor. It adds depth and brings out the bold Korean-inspired taste even more.
2. Garnish with fresh herbs like cilantro or mint for a sweet-savory contrast.
