Ingredients

  • 5 ounces asparagus (frozen) (140 g)
  • 3 ounces penne, whole wheat (84 g)
  • 1 cube vegetable bouillon
  • 1 ½ cup water (356 ml)
  • 5 ounces garden peas (frozen) (140 g)
  • 1 squeeze lemon juice (5 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (15 ml)

Preparing this recipe

  1. Cut the asparagus into pieces.  
  2. Place the penne, bouillon cube and water in a pot and bring to a boil over medium heat.  
  3. Once the water is boiling, add the asparagus and peas. Lower the heat and let it simmer, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is cooked and most of the liquid is absorbed, about 10-12 minutes. Check occasionally if the pasta is cooked and add a bit of extra water if it gets too dry.
  4. Add lemon juice and oil. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
