Ingredients

  • ½ pound baby potatoes (227 g)
  • 3 ounces chicken breast (84 g)
  • 1 cup green beans (frozen) (126 g)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (15 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (20 g)
  • 1 ½ tablespoon soy sauce (23 ml)
  • 1 carrot
  • ¼ cucumber
  • 1 clove garlic (5 g)
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter (20 g)
  • ½ teaspoon red curry paste (3 g)
  • 1 ½ fluid ounce coconut milk (45 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons water (30 ml)

Preparing this recipe

  1. Wash the baby potatoes and cut them in half. Cut the chicken breast into cubes.
  2. Bring two pots of water to a boil. In one pot, cook the baby potatoes for about 10 minutes until tender. In the other pot, cook the green beans and egg for about 8 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a pan and fry the chicken breast cubes. Season with pepper and salt. After frying for 2 minutes, add honey and half of the soy sauce. Continue frying the chicken for another 4 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Meanwhile, wash the carrot and cucumber. Cut the carrot into strips and the cucumber into slices. Crush the garlic clove. Peel the egg and cut it in half.
  5. Make a sauce in a small bowl with the peanut butter, curry paste, garlic, coconut milk, the rest of the soy sauce and water. Stir well.
  6. Arrange the vegetables, chicken, egg and baby potatoes on a plate. Serve with the peanut sauce.

1. Add fresh coriander and lime juice to the gado gado for extra flavor.
2. It's also delicious to sprinkle some fried onions on top.
