Ingredients

  • 3 ounces chicken breast (84 g)
  • ¼ onion
  • 1 clove garlic (5 g)
  • 2 ounces spaghetti, whole wheat (56 g)
  • ½ tablespoon olive oil (8 ml)
  • 9 ounces spinach (252 g)
  • 4 fluid ounces water (120 ml)
  • ½ cube vegetable bouillon
  • 1 squeeze lemon juice (5 ml)
  • 1 ounce cheddar cheese, shredded (28 g)

Preparing this recipe

  1. Cut the chicken breast into pieces and finely chop the onion and garlic.
  2. Cook the pasta according to the instructions on the package.
  3. Heat the oil in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken, season with salt and pepper and cook it for 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
  4. Add the onion and garlic to the same skillet. Sauté for about 3 minutes.
  5. Then add the pasta, chicken and spinach to the skillet. Add the water, bouillon cube and lemon juice. Stir well.
  6. Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes.
  7. Serve the dish on a plate or in a bowl and sprinkle with cheese.

1. Sprinkle some lemon zest over the chicken and spinach pasta for a fresh twist.
2. You can also replace the cheddar with Parmesan.
