Ingredients
- ¾ cup water (178 ml)
- ½ cube vegetable bouillon
- ½ onion
- 2 tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (15 ml)
- 3 ounces 99% lean ground turkey breast (84 g)
- 1 teaspoon paprika (ground spice) (2 g)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (2 g)
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste (20 g)
- 3 ounces penne, whole wheat (84 g)
Preparing this recipe
- Bring the water to a boil with the bouillon cube.
- Dice the onion. Cut the tomatoes into pieces.
- Heat the oil in a skillet and brown the ground turkey. Use a fork to break the meat into smaller pieces while cooking, stirring occasionally. Sauté the onion with the meat for 1 minute.
- Stir in paprika, Italian seasoning, tomato paste and a pinch of salt and pepper into the meat and cook for an additional 1 minute.
- Add the tomatoes and broth, then let the Bolognese sauce simmer gently for 10-12 minutes until it becomes a delicious sauce.
- Cook the penne according to the instructions on the packaging.
- Serve the penne with the turkey Bolognese sauce.
